For the last 24 years, Lanisa has been involved in leading worship in her local church. Her heart for leading believers in worship through music began as a teenager as a worship team vocalists. Years later, after her husband Brian took the Youth Pastor position at Evangelical Free Church in Huntington Beach, Lanisa would begin a program of training and equipping High Schoolers to lead their peers in worship. For the next six years, Lanisa enjoyed leading worship for the High School group, developing worship teams of young people and discipling young women.
Through the different seasons of youth ministry, church planting and her husbands career change, Lanisa has continued to be involved in leading worship for various churches for their Sunday services as well as Women’s Ministry events and retreats. She has a genuine heart to see God’s church worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
“The worship I want to be a part of leading is worship that changes lives. Real worship is when you go away loving God more, loving people more and loving His Word more. If you’re not changed then it’s not worship. When I write worship songs, my prayer is always the same. ‘Lord, how do you want to be worshipped. Help me write that.’ That is my passion; to lead Christ’s body in worshipping Him the way he wants to be worshipped. I pray He would have mercy on me and allow me to do just that.”
